
Band 7 Pharmacist - Private Sector
Job DescriptionOur Client is one of the leading Private sector Hospitals treating thousands of patients each year. Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with nearly sixty hospitals nationwide performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country. An immediate requirement has been released for a skilled Band 7 Pharmacist. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES " To assist in the provision of an efficient pharmaceutical service for both in and out-patients. " To support medical and nursing staff in protocol lead prescribing and to undertake clinical audit in line with best practice. " To provide a ward pharmacy service to the surgical division. " To take the lead in the development and implementation of PGDs within the hospital. " To dispense controlled drugs according to national guidelines and to maintain accurate records and stock levels with particular regard to the extra requirements of the controlled drugs act, and to perform regular stock checks throughout the hospital. " Provide clinical advice and information to nursing and medical staff within the hospital. " Provide an information and advisory service for patients and relatives during their treatment. Experienced Required" To participate in the cytotoxic drugs reconstitution service if required and to assist with the smooth running of the oncology clinics. " Attend study days and undertake training as required to keep up to date with developments in pharmaceutical services. " To supervise junior staff as appropriate. " To maintain all emergency drug boxes throughout the hospital. " To ensure safe systems of work with particular reference to the Health and Safety at Work Act and the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations. " To attend multidisciplinary clinical meetings as required. " To undertake weekend and public holiday duties on a rotational basis and to participate in the 'on-call' rota as required. " To perform other duties as agreed with the Pharmacy Manager. " To carry out all work with due regard to procedures and standards of professional practice established nationally, regionally and locally.
