Job DescriptionFollowing your induction you will be given support and training, and can expect to work on rotation with other junior pharmacists, covering medical and surgical wards to deliver our Patient Centred Pharmaceutical Care, where medicine reconciliation is paramount. Other areas of responsibility will be to pan the Gateshead anti-coagulation service, where you will be trained and expected to run warfarin clinics, you will be the 'responsible pharmacist' whilst covering the dispensary, undertake on call duties on rote, and support the department CPD programme . The hospital hosts the Regional Centre for gynae-oncology and also provides a service to the local Mental Health Trust The department is one of the first in the region to install robotics and is currently undertaking a new project involving electronic medicine ordering and discharge planning, they are also about to upgrade the pharmacy computer system.
